Operations Manager and Policy Assistant
The Operations Manager and Policy Assistant manages day-to-day operations, partnerships, and outreach for nimble nonprofit policy and advocacy organization with a mission of advancing equitable federal carbon pricing policy to tackle the climate challenge and developing related policy tools. The Operations Manager and Policy Assistant also assists in policy research, writing, and developing funding proposals, and serves as a partner in strategic planning with the rest of the organization’s core team. That team includes senior policy experts with experience in two presidential administrations. This position reports to the co-founder/CEO.
A qualified applicant is entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and skilled at communication. They should have the ability to develop and hold strong relationships across a diverse set of partners and stakeholders, including environmental policy experts, Congressional staff, business leaders, funders, and grassroots and community groups that span the political spectrum. A bachelor’s degree and proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. Three to five years of experience in nonprofit operations or policy, as well as the ability to manage an email newsletter, website, and organizational social media presence, is strongly preferred.
The Partnership for Responsible Growth (PRG) is a nonprofit policy and advocacy organization in Washington, DC. PRG seeks to catalyze education and action throughout a broad range of community, business and congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle to engage in equitable policies to address climate change and economic development issues. PRG’s efforts include high-level, deep-dive dialogues on policy design, as well as broad-based outreach, listening sessions, and education activities. Most recently, PRG began a series of “field listening sessions” on issues of concern to communities economically reliant on coal and other fossil fuel development, in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation. The goal is to enhance communication and bridge the divide in understanding between local leaders and national policymakers.
